Benja Bruijning's lead role in the Dutch romantic comedy FAMILY WAY (2012) opposite Carice van Houten, marked his breakthrough to a wide audience.. Recent projects include the international drama series HEIRS OF THE NIGHT directed by Diederik van Rooijen and the popular Dutch TV show NIEUWE BUREN. He recently played the lead in the play The Interpreter of Java based on the book of Alfred Birney.
Gijs Naber recently wrapped THE STORY OF MY WIFE opposite Léa Seydoux, by Oscar nominated director Ildiko Enyedi. He was awarded the Golden Calf for Best Actor twice: for the feature film THE PETER PAN MAN (2014) and the TV crime drama JUDAS (2019). Jan Kooijman is a multi-talented Dutch actor, TV-host, dancer and singer. He started his career as a professional dancer at the Scapino Ballet in Rotterdam. Jonas Smulders (1994) has made over 10 films since his debut in the 2011 TV series, HOW DO I SURVIVE. At the age of 22 he was awarded the Golden Calf Award for Best Actor for his lead role in WE WILL NEVER BE ROYALS, a role which gained him international recognition as well. In 2015, he won the Spotlight European Breakthrough Award at Kilkenny’s Subtitle fest. The International Film Festival Berlin selected Jonas as a Shooting Star 2018, one of ten brightest young European actors.
Martijn Lakemeier is the youngest Best Actor winner of all time at the Netherlands Film Festival. He received the Dutch film award for his acting debut in Martin Koolhoven's WINTER IN WARTIME (Shortlist Academy Award for best Foreign Film 2010). Ever since, Martijn landed lead roles in many films and TV series, such as in the critically acclaimed series DUTCH HOPE and the box office hit YES I DO. He is playing the lead next to Marwan Kenzari in the feature THE EAST INDIES directed by Jim Taihuttu.
For his role in the critically acclaimed Dutch film RABAT by Jim Taihuttu (WOLF), Nasrdin Dchar won the Golden Calf for Best Actor at The Netherlands Film Festival. Next to his Emmy Award Nomination for Best Actor in SKIN, Robert de Hoog is also one of the youngest winners of the Dutch film award, the Golden Calf. He worked with Steven Spielberg on WARHORSE, and played the lead role in LOVE ETERNAL (2013), which marked his first English lead role. On stage, he worked with Ivo van Hove at the International Theatre Amsterdam. Most recently he starred in the Dutch TV series ZUIDAS and MOCRO MAFFIA, and played in Halina Reijn's acclaimed directorial debut, INSTINCT (2019).
Shahine El-Hamus (2000) is a striking young actor who played a break-out role in Norbert Ter Hall’s DE BELOFTE VAN PISA (2019) for which he received raving reviews. Thijs Boermans came to the scene with his striking performance in the Dutch Film Academy graduation film GAMEBOY (2014). He caught the eye of Dutch film critics, proclaiming him one of the new talents of 2015. Thijs also played the lead role in the controversial TV film THE STUDENT. In 2016, he could be seen in THE HERO, the opening film of the 36th Netherlands Film Festival, directed by Menno Meyjes, and recently in KLEINE IJSTIJD, directed by Paula van der Oest.
